Exploring Old Manila, Philippines

Exploring Old Manila, Philippines

I can safely  say that I have been to at least 40+ countries in my lifetime but I am ashamed to say that I have not traveled around my own country as much as that.  There are so many places all over the Philippines that I have yet to explore and discover. I mean, I've already known all along that my country has the most amazing beaches and magnificent nature spots. I always used to think that it is only known for just these kinds of spots and that we don't really have any old buildings and palaces and monasteries like other countries do. Last Weekend, my sisters and I decided to hire a car and a driver and tour Old Manila, which is the  oldest part of our capital. I was pretty surprised to see that we also had our own kind of old cultural spots that had nothing to do with beaches!

ThrowBack Travel : Nepal

*This Post originally appeared on my old lifestyle blog Style and Chocolates, a couple of years ago. This blog post has a few modifications to the text and is being transferred here permanently.

It's already been years since I went to Nepal with my family. I still haven't gotten over the trip, I also have not gotten the chance to write about it here thus I've placed it under the Throwback Travel Thursday Category.

Nepal is one incredible country. As some of you may or may not know, it is home to some of the most famous and highest mountains in the world. It is abundant in nature and also in culture.

Arena Island : A Gorgeous Island Resort in Palawan, Philippines

I absolutely adore the beach. I live in a country that has around seven thousand islands so I am really lucky to have numerous choices of beautiful sandy beaches to choose from. A few months ago one of my good friends told us about a deal that she found in one of those coupon/discounted websites. It was for a 3day/2night stay at Club Arena, Palawan. It was a really, really good deal and something that we couldn't pass up so we were like, let's go and book!

Armenia and Why You Should Definitely Put It On Your Bucket List, Part 3

Visiting Armenia and the best sites to see

Finally Part 3 of my Armenia series. I have already written in the other two parts about how much I love this country. I was there for only a little over a week with my family and I found that it had so much to offer. Armenia is a really small country that has an abundance of beautiful sights, gorgeous countryside and food that is so good! Even now, months later, I am still craving it!

Armenia and Why You Should Definitely Put It On Your Bucket List, Part 2

I went to Armenia on a family trip and I loved it so much! I already wrote part one of this trip but I felt like one post wasn't enough. I took over two thousand photos and had the hardest time picking out the ones to feature here. This country is truly amazing and even now, I still cannot get over it. I feel like it is such an underappreciated destination and I hope that people reading this and all my other Armenia posts will be inspired to visit!

Armenia and Why You Should Definitely Put It On Your Bucket List, Part1

*This Post originally appeared on my old lifestyle blog Style and Chocolates, a couple of year ago. This blog post has a few modifications to the text and is being transferred here permanently.

Traveling has always been a big part of my interests. When I travel with my family, we love discovering places that are not as popular or as over featured as some other countries. This year, we decided to take a trip to Armenia.

A lot of our friends were asking us why we wanted to go there - it's not somewhere that people from where I'm from go to just off the bat. Most visited are European or Asian countries like Thailand and Japan. They were wondering where and what is in Armenia and exactly why did we decide to go? I'm glad we decided on it because Armenia is honestly one of the most gorgeous countries I’ve been to! I really hope that anybody reading this will want to visit this beautiful place. Read more and see all the photos to find out why!

My Highlights and Experiences in Sri Lanka

*This Post originally appeared on my now defunct lifestyle blog Style and Chocolates. This blog post has a few modifications to the text and is being transferred here permanently.

I've always been fascinated by the thought of Sri Lanka. If you’re a Disney or Rudyard Kipling fan, you would know that The Jungle Book was set in the jungles of Sri Lanka! Our tour also included a safari to one of the National parks so I was super excited for that! I’ll be posting some photos, as well as anecdotes and highlights of the places we visited.

Myanmar : The Land of Many Pagodas

Myanmar : The Land of Many Pagodas

This is all about a short holiday I took to Myanmar/Burma last May. I have got to warn you though, this post is going to have a TON of photos. There were so many to choose from! I tried to edit out as much as I could while still keeping a lot of the important/good ones. These photos are all just taken by a good 'ol point and shoot canon, none are SLR quality but i still think they're still nice enough photos! And it still definitely shows the beauty of the country!

Throwback Travel : Alaska

Nofiltertravel Photos Alaska Alaska Cruise

About nine years ago (eek, has it been that looong ago?) My family and I went on a cruise to Alaska. A series of unfortunate events happened: lost baggage, my dad and my sister getting sick and then learning it was due to a virus going around the boat. Since we were with two contaminated people, we were ALL confined to our room for two days. Then finally, because of said virus, the cruise had to end one day early! What a mess!

The Philippines Has Some of The Best Beaches in The World

Nofiltertravel :The Philippines Has the Best Beaches in the world

With my country [The Philippines] having hot weather all year round (especially now!) I thought I'd dedicate this post to beaches, beaches and more beaches! A word of warning though, you might get sick of looking at white sand and clear turquoise waters because there is a lot of that here. (As for me, I never get sick of the images even if they somewhat look the same, as I'm a huge beach lover!)

Welcome to Nofilter Travel

Showing the world as one sees it in the moment. No filter,no photoshop.

Welcome to No Filter Travel! I first started this little passion project awhile back on Instagram. I posted mainly my photos that I took over some years of traveling and decided to call it No Filter Travel. This name came about when I realized {after one of my trips to Armenia}that the photos I took of the scenery and sites that took my breath away did not need any filter or photoshop. They were all gorgeous on their own. It got me to thinking about starting an Instagram account (and well kind of a movement really) that was dedicated to travel photos that showed the place or scenery just as it's seen in the moment. No edits, no photoshop and absolutely no filter.  I know that it's tempting to tweak and edit travel photos (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that) but I just wanted to show that these sites and places are really already beautiful on their own.

I then branched out to writing about my experiences from those travels in my old lifestyle blog, Style&Chocolates. Just recently, I've decided to consolidate all my travel posts in one site. Thus, this No Filter Travel site was born. I've transferred all the posts from Style&Chocolates into this site in case you missed them and will continue writing about some more new travel experiences. All my photos will showcase all the places just as I saw it. Join me in my #nofiltertravel movement and let's show just how naturally beautiful our world really is! I Hope I get to see your unfiltered travel photos too under the hashtag #nofiltertravel on Instagram.

I also hope you enjoy all the content in this site! xx
